“I like to think that the thought behind the design is intricate. It is multidimensional. I told my mom that I thought that this represents the lives of the miners. I hope someone will recognize their destiny or potential when they receive one of them as an award. Because, I saw my destiny and felt all of my potential when we designed the awards, I know that my life is intricate and I am happy that I am able to help bring about some peace and maybe even closure to someone else’s family in designing this award.”

“We went out to the neighborhood garden and we all kind of banded together,” said Destiny Holloway. “It was interesting to see some kids get dirty that don’t normally get dirty. We got out there with our shovels and our hoes and we weeded and we really kind of came together and did some great stuff. We planted flowers, tomato plants, peppers. It was really awesome”

Earth Day
