Earth Day

Over 350 students and 100 staff members participated in Earth Day at the Jacksonville Job Corps Center.  The students and staff planted 10 trees, placed annuals in several areas around the center, cleaned windows, trimmed hedges, mowed grass, removed overgrown weeds and picked up trash to beautiful their center.

The students started their earth day activities at 8:00a.m. and worked until lunchtime to complete their beautification projects.  Once complete  everyone was invited to a cook out  hosted by the Cafeteria Manger and staff of hot dogs, burgers, baked beans salad and desert, it was a day of appreciation, respect and beautification for Mother Earth.

Earth day is celebrated around the country and at all Job Corps locations.  The Jacksonville Center is located on 29 beautiful acres surrounded by breathtaking greenery and a scenic fountain overlooking the crosswalk.
