May Day Celebration at Wilmington Job Corps

The Wilmington Job Corps Center celebrated their fifth May Day Celebration on May 20, 2011. A day of structured employability and learning activities was held to demonstrate and supoort the center’s Career Success Standards. The emphasis of the joint collaboration between the Outreach & Admissions/Career Transitional Services and the center was to gain the attention of young adults(16-24) to showcase the importance of education and employability skills.
Employers from the business community volunteered their services to provide information on their respective organizations and to participate in a day filled with learning explorations and fun.
Radio Station 101.7 KISS FM was on hand to broadcast live from the center and Comcast Cable television station Channel 22 was also on hand to tape the event. A good time was had by all.
