The Wilmington Job Corps Center participated in the annual Make A Difference Day on October 28, 2011.
Twenty-three students and five staff participated in the event. There were four employer partners who provided varied type projects for the students to perform.
All four vocational training areas had the opportunity to give back to the community. Employer partners included Habitat for Humanity, the Food Bank of Delaware, United Way of delaware and Delaware Elwyn. As a result of the event, one new WBL site was established and one employer reconnected with the center for future WBL internships.
The participants requested more frequent community service projects and were extremely delighted with the entire event.
