The Wilmington Job Corps Center and Habitat for Humanity, have partnered once again. Several Facilities Maintenance students along with their instructor, have been working with Habitat on a new project, consisting of new construction of twenty-one town homes being built from the ground up.
The students have the opportunity to have required TAR items signed off and the valuable experience of hands on training. The students will be exposed to framing, carpentry, roofing, drywall, plumbing, masonry, HVAC and other skills that will enhance their employment marketability once they complete the program.
The site is conveniently located one block from the center!!! It is my guess, that there will be no excuses accepted for being late!!! Habitat has been a community partner since the center’s inception, which dates back to 2004.
