NEW HAVEN JOB CORPS STUDENTS “MAKE A DIFFERENCE”

The New Haven Job Corps Center joined millions across the country participating on “Make A Difference Day”, the national day of doing good.  Students worked with “Operation Gratitude” to ensure that a soldier, sailor, airman, or marine knows that his or her sacrifices are APPRECIATED.

It does not take huge gestures.  Just offering the slightest amount of time or attention can make a difference in letting people know that they are not alone in whatever they may be facing.

Jessie, a student in the Clinical Medical Assistant Program wrote, “Dear Hero:  As an American, I am greatly proud to have soldiers like you to fight and defend my country.  I personally look up to people like you as role models in hope to one day be as strong and courageous as you.  You Make A Difference!”

Kaylethia, a Certified Nurse’s Assistant student writes, “I would like to say thank you for risking your lives every day to make sure our country is safe.  You guys give students like me the courage to go out and make a difference whether its savings lives, or protecting lives.”

Operation Gratitude sends over 100,000 care packages each year to deployed Troops and Wounded Warriors.  Of all the items included in these packages, the most cherished are the personal letters of appreciation!  The students at the New Haven Job Corps Center were happy to be able to Make A Difference in the live of our Veterans!
