Montgomery Job Corps Students Tour Weather Station

On June 16, 2011, Safety Officer Earlethia Atchison accompanied several students on a tour of local weather station channel 12 (WSFA-TV). Meteorologist and storm team reporter, Josh Johnson, conducted the tour. The purpose of this tour was to educate the students on how tornadoes, hurricanes, and other universal elements are formed. In addition, the students learned about how to protect themselves and others in the event of bad weather. This trip was very beneficial not only for the students, but staff as well. Our Safety Department’s main goal is to maintain a safe environment in the event of in-climate weather, and this activity provided helpful methods to remain safe.
