Montgomery Job Corps Center Begins New Mentorship

What:  Mentorship formed through Tau Beta Pi and Mrs. Deanne Stirm. Through this partnership Mr. A.J. Pruitt, an engineer with Alabama Power begins to mentor Montgomery Job Corps students. Mr. Pruitt is attended Auburn University where he received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. During his visit he informed students in the Electrical Vocation of the wonderful employment opportunities offered with Alabama Power. Mr. Pruitt also expressed to students the importance of being professional and told them what employers were looking for when hiring. Electrical Instructor Mr. Terry Kirkland also stated that he was excited about Mr. Pruitt’s mentorship and was looking forward to this partnership and invited Mr. Pruitt to be a part of the Montgomery Job Corp’s Industry Advisory Council.  Excited to show his electrical expertise to Mr. Pruitt’s electrical student Mr. Donald Millender explained to Mr. Pruitt the process used with the installation of the solar panels.  Mr. Pruitt plans to continue this mentorship on a regular basis and believes in the Job Corps Program.
