Lyndon B. Johnson Job Corps CCC Host Monthly Students vs. Staff Events

FRANKLIN, NC-Since January, Lyndon B. Johnson Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center has integrated monthly students vs. staff events into their schedule. The purpose of the events are to promote student and staff development through, exercise, teambuilding skills, sportsmanship, and more importantly, student and staff morale.

Having these events has made a positive influence on students. They get the opportunity to see staff on the same level playing field, through participating in sporting events such as co-ed basketball, volleyball, and other activities. Believe it or not, the monthly events are now something students look forward to. They are becoming more proactive in the process of planning the events and setting the precedent for positive behavior on center.

For the month of April, we will be hosting a game show theme event for students and staff who are not athletically inclined to play sports. The game show will have questions relating to current events, anti-bullying and the student handbook.

Marvin Ramsey, Liaison Specialist said “I really enjoy the comrade off seeing students and staff working together to build those positive relationships among each other. It’s priceless”

The Lyndon B. Johnson Civilian Conservation Center is associated with National Forests of North Carolina.
