On Tuesday, August 2nd, the Grafton Police Department hosted its 11th annual “National Night Out Block Party.”  The event was held adjacent to the Grafton Police Station from 5-8 pm.  Residents throughout Grafton joined forces with thousands of communities nationwide to celebrate this event.  The event is billed as “an annual community-building campaign  that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.”

Students in the Protective Services trade, Culinary Arts trade and Human Services Worker trade volunteered at the event.   The HSW students manned the Outreach table, talking to families about the programs offered at Grafton Job Corps.  The Protective Services students assisted with crowd control and organizing children’s activities for 100 plus kids!  The Culinary students served over 120 pounds of hotdogs to the crowd.  Students and staff had a great time.
