In Job Corps’ continuing effort to reach out to significant New Haven employers, a New Haven Job Corps Center carpentry student was hired in November by the Housing Authority of New Haven-HUD. Career technical training in the carpentry trade including certifications in vinyl siding installation, scaffolding, and green building awareness, led the graduate to seek post-secondary education through Middlesex Community College. Subsequently, he passed the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners exam (NABCEP), receiving certification as a solar PV installer assistant and carpenter with Housing Authority of New Haven-HUD.
