Woodland Job Corps on Laurel Television Station

Woodland’s Center Director, Tanisha Nixon and BCL, Jobina Brown along with students Kenneth Russell and Daniel Walsh were all interviewed by news anchor Deion McNair for “What’s Going On Laurel” television show this past week. Each person was asked a series of questions that pertained to their positions on center.

“It’s great to get positive stories put out to the local community about just what we do here since Job Corps centers are often times given a negative backdrop. I’m honored to have the cameras here to see up close and personal on how my staff and I are changing the lives of young people one young person at a time,” stated Ms. Nixon.

The television station is linked to the local Public Access Channel and their purpose is to promote the use of public access availability and keep viewers and residents of what’s happening in and around the City of Laurel through community notices and airing government meetings. The show is set to air sometime in October on Comcast, Channel 71 or Verizon FiOS, Channel 12.

Woodland was thrilled to have the Laurel television team on center and they look forward to seeing their debut in October!
