Center Director, Tanisha Nixon and BCL, Jobina C. Brown headed to the County Council Building in Upper Marlboro, MD where they advocated for continued support to all nine of the Prince George’s County Council members in the form of a briefing for Woodland Job Corps. The Council members were able to gather information as well as ask questions about the daily operation of a center, the trades, and how they can be a resource to the center in the future.
“It’s rare when you can come before a group of elected officials and not have to ask them for any funding but only support. Making sure that Ms. Nixon as the face of the center is seen and known throughout Prince George’s County has and will continue to be one of my many goals for the center as I work to protect the 50 year old brand of Job Corps, stated Ms. Brown.
Woodland was delighted to have a seat at the table and they will continue to move the center forward one county council at a time!
