Whitney Young Job Corps Welding graduate Tushawn Davis, age 19, is now enrolled in the US Army. After completing boot camp, he will be assigned to the auto pilot division flying US drones due to his high test scores. Davis who was born in the United States returned to the US to live with his aunt, after living in Jamaica most of his life. There are greater opportunities in the US for Davis to help his family living in Jamaica. Job Corps helped Davis obtained certifications such as OHSA 10, Stick and MIG welding, American Welding Society certifications and his drivers licenses. Davis said Job Corps has helped him mentally where he now has changed the way he views and approach situations. After his welding training Davis worked on a farm for leisure time employment and played on the soccer team while being a dorm leader. Davis appreciates Whitney Young Job Corps and plans to come back one day to speak to future Job Corps students.
