Recently on Nov. 12 Whitney M. Young Jr. Job Corps Center held an assembly that honored our veterans that were staff, students or community members at large. The Martha L. Collins High School provided the presentation of colors. We were privileged to have two guest speakers which included retired Army veteran, Staff Sergeant Matthew LaPierre, with the KY Dept. of Veterans Affairs and retired Army veteran, Master Sergeant Alvin C. Bethea, Sr. Over four hundred students and staff paused for a moment of silence to honor our fallen heroes as well. It was good to see the respect given to the momentous occasion.
