During the month of March, Westover Job Corps adopted the Open Pantry residence for young mothers and their babies in Springfield, MA. The administrators were given a list of all our trades, and returned it with their wish list for repairs and services. Our career teams then began scheduling visits and planning the trade-specific service projects. Due to the length of time it takes to execute the logistics for this campaign, we are running into April, but already during March Pharmacy Tech students performed an overhaul on the grounds, driveway and play area. Automotive Repair students and staff will change the oil on the vehicle used by the organization. Sixteen teen mothers and their babies reside in the property. Young women studying at Job Corps took time to speak with staff at Open Pantry about the Westover campus, the Job Corps program, options for child care, and the many benefits available to qualified individuals.
