Avery C. goes from dead end job to career in health care.
As recent as a year ago Avery was employed as a temporary worker on a night shift in a tissue paper factory. He had no hope for the future and hated his job. Today the young man is moving forward and will soon be a certified medical administrative assistant. His future plans include becoming a registered nurse and a physian’s assistant with plans to enter Springfield Technical Community College.
Avery “credits” the Westover Job Corps program for this change in his life. …”Without the program I do not know where I would be”! Knowing how difficult the job market is, Avery plans on achieving all he can to be that career minded individual he wants to be. Avery volunteers as it makes him feel the importance of giving back to those in need. As he is a member of the center’s Outreach Committee, Avery gets to see the needy first hand and makes suggestions he feels will increase the community’s awareness of the Westover Job Corps Center.
