Building Business Partnerships

Making connections and developing partnerships that work is what the day was all about. On March 16th the Westover Job Corps Center hosted an employer reception. Six employers joined staff from Westover and discussed the local economy, the job market; employer needs and how Job Corps can play a role in helping them develop a stronger base of employees.

“We are the experts at what we do,” said Etta Hill the Business and Community Liaison for Westover Job Corps Center. Job Corps is exceptional in training young adults to enter the workforce. Westover offers 14 different vocational trainings. During the event, employers learned about the Job Corps program and the vocational trainings that are offered at Westover through a PowerPoint presentation. The event was a great opportunity to showcase the Westover Job Corps program. Employers asked questions, spoke with student’s and toured the center. They were amazed with the quality of training we provide. Deborah Pace, Director of Employer Relations at Western New England College said, “These young people are capable of excelling in any job. They are some of the most well prepared young adults I have spoken with in some time. I am looking forward to building a working relationship with Job Corps.” Westover will be placing students at the college in several Work Based learning opportunities.

Building partnerships to make impacts on the lives of young adults is all apart of the Job Corps program.
