A Hidden Jewel: Chicopee’s Historic Auditorium

You’d never know, walking into Chicopee City Hall, that you’re walking into the “new” building, that just beyond the corridor is a huge town hall meeting space with carved wood, abundant stained glass and twin balconies looking down on a gorgeous wood floor. The “auditorium” is part of the original city hall. Westover Job Corps Center’s Plastering Vocation has been working since September on restoring the space. This is painstaking work where the old plaster is literally crumbling off. Once complete, the City of Chicopee will be able to hold events, assemblies and ceremonies in this fantastic space.
