Every year citizens and leaders within the African American community convene in Tulsa for the Annual Out of Africa: Healthy Brain Strategies Event. February 17th, Friday was the 19th Annual Event. For this occasion, Alzheimer’s Diversity Outreach Services partners with corporate sponsors and faith-based community groups to create an evening of education, empowerment and entertainment. Tulsa Job Corps students were chosen to be catered and served while the hosts presented/discussed their worthy cause.

The opportunity to serve at events such as this creates a chance for students to engage with an attitude of servitude and witness the beauty of connection with culinary arts.
