Treasure Island Job Corps Got Talent

On Thursday March 17th the SGA hosted a wonderful talent show in the gymnasium. 18 brave trainees signed up to share their skills in acting, musical instruments, dance, and voice. Leilani Sabugo took the stage first to act out one minute comedic monologues. Marquez Ferguson performed his famous “Just My Imagination” that first appeared in the black history month assembly. Margo Broadway delighted the crowd with her original songwriting. Pricilla Moreno, accompanied by Rashad Nahshal, sang beautifully. Richard Freund amazed everyone as he strung his guitar and belted out the notes to Rocketeer. Trejvaun Wilson worked up the courage to start his rap, and the crowd kept cheering him on. The six blessings came out and interacted so much the crowd went wild. Joel Small poured his heart into his music. Last up was Malcolm Hanley with his great saxophone talent.  Paul Zavala, past SGA VP, and Matthew Chand, 3 East Floor Representative, were great emcees throughout the show! In the end the judges got together and awarded 1st place to Richard Freund, 2nd place to Malcolm Hanley and 3rd to Priscilla Moreno. The Six Blessings got a special shout out for crowd pleasing! Great job to everyone who participated in the show, the SGA wants to thank everyone for coming to the first event of the new board!!
