Treasure Island Job Corps Cross Collaborative Community Support

Treasure Island Job Corps & Chinese Newcomers Center Collaborate on Food Drive – San Francisco Chinatown

Over 200 trainees and 15 instructors from Treasure Island Job Corps’ Security, Academics, Office Assistant and CMA participated to staff the food drive and provided language assistance, safety and crowd monitoring and packaging and distribution of food bags to 5,000 low-income clients living in San Francisco.

The Chinese Newcomers Service Center (CNSC) is a community center in San Francisco Chinatown that provides multilingual services that help Chinese immigrants adapt to life in the United States. CNSC serves as a bridge between the two cultures, enhancing the physical, mental, social and economic well-being of immigrants, thus facilitating their efforts to become self-sufficient, contributing members of the community.
