Men-2-Change

Men-2-Change

On the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wednesdays of each month, LaMerle Johnson facilitates a focus group for male students. The group is called Men-2-Change. In this focus group, LaMerle share his life experiences with the male students, and also challenges them to reflect on: what brought them to Job Corps, what they are focusing on while attending Job Corps, what their plan is for the future, and how they will execute their plan. Men-2-Change was created by the Recreation department in an effort to provide strategies and support for the male students who are having struggles with personal issues and Job Corps issues. Mr. Johnson talks to the students about avoiding some of the pitfalls that got him sentenced to prison. The students have been engaged and have been anxious to attend. Students selected for Men-2-Change must attend a four-week session. Thank you Mr. Johnson for your time, your energy, and your commitment!
