PepsiCo and WasteManagement Corp selected Talking Leaves Job Corps as its beta site for the Dream Machine program.  The center was provided a laptop computer loaded with the beta copy of their software as well as a scanner.  The student lead “Green Team” collects and scans the bar codes on aluminium cans and plastic drink bottles.  The information is uploaded on the laptop and transmitted.  The cans and bottles are picked up by the WasteManagement Corp.  Talking Leaves receives points for the scanned items and the cans and bottles are recycled to make new products.  Based on the success of the beta site, the program will be rolled out at a later date to organizations around the nation.
