St. Louis Job Corps students shine behind the scenes at BMW Championship at Bellerieve Country Club

St. Louis, MO — September 4, 2026 – Students from St. Louis Job Corps Center (SLJCC) recently stepped into the spotlight, supporting operations at the renowned BMW Championship, held at the historic Bellerieve Country Club in the City of Ladue, MO.

As part of the PGA Tour, the BMW Championship brings together the world’s top golfers and attracts thousands of fans to St. Louis, making it one of the region’s marquee sporting events.

Working alongside EES Security, Job Corps students played crucial roles in guest services, access control, crowd direction, safety, and overall event logistics. The hands-on learning experience let them apply their training in a real-world, fast-paced environment, building invaluable skills in teamwork, communication, and professionalism.

Kaneesha Miner, Work-Based Learning coordinator, SLJCC, who chaperoned the students during the event, said, “This was an incredible opportunity for our students to see what goes into organizing a major sporting event and to contribute in a meaningful way. They rose to the occasion, demonstrating responsibility and a strong work ethic. I’m so proud of how they represented themselves and St. Louis Job Corps.”

Miner added, “Experiences like this give our students a chance to develop confidence and practical skills that will serve them throughout their careers. Watching them interact with guests, solve problems, and support each other as a team was truly inspiring.”

The BMW Championship at Bellerieve Country Club is a highlight of the PGA Tour, bringing elite golfers and fans together for a week of world-class competition. For the Job Corps students, the event was more than just a glimpse into the world of professional sports—it was a stepping stone toward future success in the workforce.

“Our students showed they are ready to show up, work hard, and make an impact,” Miner said. “They left a positive impression on everyone they worked with, and I know this experience will stay with them for years to come.”
