Grateful

Grateful

Alonte Folks understands what Job Corps has done for him, so looking back he is very confident that he made a good decision. He is ready to embark on a career as a carpenter and knows that he wants that journey to start in the home building industry. ” I want to be part of building houses; I want my first employer to be a residential contractor,” says Alonte. His instructor Brian Gray agrees that residential is a great place to start and then other opportunities may present themselves, “Alonte is looking at both McBride Homes and Schmeerbauch Custom Homes (SCH) as they represent both spectrums of the industry in the metropolitan region.” Alonte is grateful for Mr. Gray’s mentorship and the guidance he is receiving from CTR Instructor, Mr. Dan Ingram, as he prepares to graduate in just a few weeks. The help Alonte has received at Job Corps has positively impacted his life and he is eager to pay it forward; on this day he was working with a new student and passing along a few words of wisdom of his own (Alonte Folks in forefront, student Charles Reddy in background).
