Crusaders in the Kitchen


The St. Louis Job Corps Center has faced all of the challenges that accompany COVID, including isolation and anxiety. But the one destination on our Center that has helped our students and staff through these difficulties is the cafeteria headed by our own Chef Charles Canada. Chef Canada has been with the Center for two decades and he understands food’s tacit power. He and his staff (Jerome White, Wallace Brady, Shawne’ Smith, Zach Carter, Quartez Rencher, Cherricka Whitlock-Brown and Arlonya Paulette) take to heart the task of preparing food for everyone on Center, keeping them healthy and bringing a little joy to each meal. Whether it is a special dessert for the 4th of July, some chili to ring in the fall or turkey and dressing for Thanksgiving, we know the “Crusaders in the Kitchen” use their superpowers of kindness and caring to ensure warm hearts and full stomachs!
