City of Northwoods turns to the St. Louis Job Corps to replace retiring workers

Nick Mayo and Reco Redmond from the St. Louis Job Corps Building and Apartment Maintenance HBI program where hired for a four to six week internship at the City of Northwoods maintenance department.   Nick and Reco were two of four students interviewed from the Center and were selected for their back ground training in general building maintenance and HVAC training.   The City of Northwoods has agreed to continue this Work Based Learning Site throughout the year every four to six weeks giving our students a chance to practice what they have learned at the Center.   This process is being used by the city to help them find replacements for a series of retirements that will be occurring among city employees over the next few years.
