Bringing business and networking opportunities to our students is a priority at the St. Louis Job Corps Center. On February 23, the African-American Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis held its monthly meeting at the St. Louis Job Corps Center. Chef Kelly Ross’ Young Culinary Professionals prepared and served brunch to local business leaders. Evelyn Preston, Chamber President, spoke about the importance of teamwork in order to support economic revitalization of the African-American community, while focusing on providing youth with access to entrepreneurial opportunities locally and beyond. Community networking and the opportunity to show off their skills are an important part of student training at the St. Louis Job Corps Center. Many students networked with Chamber members after the meeting, including Willie Boyd, Culinary Arts Student, who spoke with Major Yolandea M. Wood, USAF (Ret.). Major Wood was representing Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.
