Youth 2 Youth Campaign Works to Reduce Bullying

During the week of November 16th, the students at Springdale Job Corps Center will focus on reducing bullying on center through the Youth 2 Youth campaign. To kick off the anti-bullying focus, Office Administration student Nathan Griffith shared his own story of being a bully during the Monday morning meeting. He encouraged students experiencing bullying or who might be bullies to reach out for help saying, “If you reach out a hand, there will be so many hands reaching back.”

Activities for the week include a screening of the documentary, Bully Wednesday and the launch of a student led Positive Culture Committee on Thursday. Mitchell Cooper, the Y2Y advisor, is excited about the response he’s seen to the Y2Y campaign so far. “Students are interested about what we’re doing and I think the Positive Culture Committee will help cement that they really are the architects of center culture.”
