Springdale Job Corps student Christian HasBrouck spent the last six weeks learning about the judiciary system from the inside-out. Christian had the opportunity to complete his Work Based Learning experience with Multnomah County Judge Michael McShane. A protective services student, Christian at first wondered if what he would be doing would be trade specific enough. He soon found out that he’d be thrown headlong into the judiciary system which gave him excellent experience and a strong knowledge base for his planned career in the police force. One of his favorite tasks was to watch the court hearings. Judge McShane was impressed with Christian’s abilities and states that Christian was “hands down, the best intern” he has worked with. “He has impressed staff, attorneys and other judges with his energy and optimism. I look forward to seeing where his path takes him and I hope to remain a mentor and friend.” We also look forward to seeing where Christian’s path takes him, and are glad we could be a part of it.
