Springdale SGA Recognizes Support Staff

During the final all-center meeting before Winter Break, the Springdale Student Government Association took some time to recognize and thank the staff in Maintenance, Security and Transportation, and Food Service for their hard work and dedication. The three SGA members, President Roper Astrop, Vice President Lizbeth Fernandez Limas, and Treasurer Viri Matias Hernandez read the names of each member of the support staff and gave them each a small token of their appreciation.

“Each of these staff members works hard in some of the toughest jobs on center,” said Roper. “The Maintenance staff makes sure everything on center is working properly, Security and Transportation gets us to and from our work-based learning sites as well as making sure we’re safe on center, and Food Services work hard to make sure we are fed well. We wanted to make sure they knew we appreciated their work.”

Center Director Naomi Ulsted was proud of the SGA members. “It was such a positive gesture and shows our staff that students do appreciate their hard work.”

Students work closely with the center support staff, including helping the Maintenance staff with center upkeep, working with the Food Services staff to keep the kitchen clean and running smoothly, and Protective Services students staffing the front gate with the Security and Transportation staff.
