On Wednesday, October 14th, the staff and students of Springdale Job Corps Center welcomed more than 20 high school counselors and youth education programs to visit. The counselors met with Center Director Naomi Ulsted, PIVOT Site Director Tyna Moreschi, Career Services Development Manager Danny Stoddard, and Education Services Manager Rachel Lupole, who gave an overview of the options available at the center as well as the PIVOT program located in northwest Portland.

The counselors heard about the different training programs available, the employer and work-based learning partners the center has relationships with, and the availability of GED or high school diploma completion. “We want to show what Job Corps offers to people coming out of high school and other education programs,” the center director said to group. “We are all working to give our young people the best start to their future.”

After the presentation, visitors toured the center, seeing the different training programs as well as Academics and dormitories. The open house is held once a year and is open to schools and organizations that would like to learn more about Springdale.
