PIVOT Welcomes Community Partners for Community Relations Council

On Wednesday, March 23rd, PIVOT Job Corps Center located in northwest Portland, Oregon, welcomed community partners to their center for a community relations council meeting. The meeting was an opportunity to educate new partners about Job Corps and get feedback on how PIVOT can partner with these organizations.

Employment Specialist Jessica Corpuel planned the meeting and was excited by the number of attendees. “It was great we had such interest in learning more about PIVOT and on working together to benefit both our program and the other programs.”

Program Manager Jennifer Jensen updated attendees on the changes happening at PIVOT, including hiring a new Office Administration instructor and new online learning activities for Medical Office Support students. Springdale JCC’s Business & Community Liaison Anna Snyder also attended and provided information on what was new at Springdale. “Everyone had really great questions,” said Anna. “Some of the people there knew a lot about PIVOT and some were newer partners that are still learning about Job Corps and the relationship between PIVOT and Springdale.”

“We were really happy to see so many people at the meeting,” said Tyna Moreschi, PIVOT Site Director. “The Community Relations Council is an important link connecting PIVOT with the surrounding business community. It helps us educate our neighbors and spread the word about what we do.”

PIVOT Job Corps Center is a satellite of Springdale Job Corps Center. It is all female and non-residential. PIVOT has immediate openings and holds open houses every Wednesday at 2pm.
