Springdale Job Corps has some breaking news for you – KGW and Schoolhouse Supplies teamed up with Springdale Job Corps to bring thousands of pounds of donated school supplies to kids all over Portland, OR.

Schoolhouse Supplies is a terrific organization that collects and distributes thousands of school supplies, backpacks and educational materials to kids that need it every year. They partner with organizations such as the Portland Timbers, KGW, Rose Festival foundation and many, many more. Springdale students have been honored to participate in a series of mailing projects and supply donation drives and assemblies over the last year.

This particular project brought students and staff to the studios at KGW news station in Portland, OR. KGW studios serve as a donation site for organizations all over Portland – and students and staff helped to sort, stack and organize an entire studio full of donations.

As a treat, Springdale students toured the studio and saw how a news station works. They visited the newsroom, the broadcast studio and the control room and took the picture at the news desk.
