Springdale Job Corps students made a difference to their communities in September.  Approximately 20 students participated in two service learning projects over the weekend of September 1st and 2nd. .  Students volunteered with the Oregon Humane Society, and also joined in with several other organizations to assist with the Clackamas River Cleanup.  Students at the Humane Society helped with clean up, paperwork, and enjoyed lots of good playtime with the animals.  During the Clackamas River Cleanup, students joined about 100 other boaters and several land crews to beautify their surroundings by cleaning up litter and trash.  Haley Maes, a Health Occupations student, says the following about her experience:  “It feels awesome.  I’m not from here, but just being out in the public; getting to know the area, and most of all, making it look fantastic, is something that I will always remember.”
