Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center (SNJCC) was awarded “2011 Best Place to Work in Greater Reno-Tahoe” by the Northern Nevada Human Resources Association on April 28.  The center was recognized in a packed ballroom of more than 400 local business people during a dinner for the event.  The competition was based on company surveys gauging employee workplace and job satisfaction and a total of 78 companies were nominated.  SNJCC was one of sevent finalists in the large Company category, along with Intuit, Inc., Microsoft Licensing, Northern Nevada Medical Center, Patagonia, Server Technology and Sierra Nevada Corporation.

SNJCC was recognized for uniting employees around its mission of changing the lives of Nevada’s youth and for its commitment to happy and fulfilled employees.  Employee responses on the survey commended SNJCC for its steadfast commitment to its mission and the employees’ love for helping students make positive changes in their lives as the biggest reasons for employee satisfaction.  In 2010, SNJCC came close and won third place in the competition.
