Sierra Nevada Recognized Once More for Help with Air Races Tragedy

On December 15, the Washoe County Health District held a recognition reception for all the community volunteer groups that helped during the tragedy at the National Championship Air Races in September, when a plane crashed into the spectator area. Six students attended the reception on behalf of the more than 40 students who helped with the tragedy.

Student Marquise Franklin was interviewed on KOLO Channel 8 television and shared with viewers how being able to help others had given him confidence in himself.  The reception recognized more than 50 agencies for their service and gave the Washoe County Health District the chance to thank each individual group for their contributions.
