This Feburary, 28 Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center (SNJCC) students participated in “Bring an SNJCC Student to Work Day.” Nineteen local businesses and organizations hosted students for the day, giving the students a glimpse into the field in which they would be working after graduation from SNJCC.
Students job shadowed in automotive shops, paint shops, lawyers and doctors offices, medical clinics, and large departments that oversee facilities maintenance. The students and employers shared mutual excitement about the event. Students were able to get valuable information about and see first hand all the jobs available to them in their training field. Employers were able to share their knowledge and show the future generation of the workforce all of the possibilities that are open to them.
SNJCC thanks the businesses that participated in the event and looks forward to coordinating another event in the future!
