Sierra Nevada Job Corps students and staff recently gathered to cheer on participants in the first annual Sierra Nevada Job Corps’ Got Talent competition. The event featured the singing, rapping, and dancing talents of 11 students. Each of the performing acts made it through to the competition after first facing a round of try outs for the event. Judges for the competition included Bob the Biker from KTVN Channel 2, a former Miss Nevada competitor, and two staff members with a plethora of musical, performance and on-camera experience.
The competitors showcased a multitude of talents, including beat-boxing, a vocal and guitar duet and a rap and dance combination. In the end, an inspiring and original interpretive dance by student Josh Peoples won. The student performers were all proud to be able to demonstrate their artistic abilities for their friends, mentors and teachers and prove that Sierra Nevada Job Corps’ Got Talent!
