Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center (SNJCC) recently held a pinning ceremony to celebrate its Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) passing their Nevada State Board of Nursing exams. The seven graduates were joined by their friends, families, fellow students and staff during the event. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the Job Corps National Commencement Day on August 30.
The center’s CNA program is rigorous and requires a commitment to excellence. The 20-week program has a 96% State Board pass rate – the highest in the state of Nevada. Additionally, of the 225 CNA students that have taken the Nevada State Board of Nursing exams in the last five years, 224 have passed. Graduates go on to work in hospitals, clinics and care facilities all over Nevada.
“We set very high expectations for our students, particularly for those who enter into the medical fields,” Center Director Ken Dugan said. “They always exceed those expectations and make us extremely proud. They are an example of career technical training at its finest.”
The CNA graduates are: Monique Cruz, Raliqua Slater, Ruboneza Hagimimana, Gladys Aguila, Tasha Gifford, Maricruz Meza-Palomares, Tensaye Yihune.
