Sierra Nevada Helps Community Celebrate Halloween Safely

Sierra Nevada Job Corps students celebrated Make A Difference Day on Saturday, October 22 at O’Brien Middle School.  The center held its 7th annual Make A Difference Day Halloween Carnival for the community and provided a safe, fun place for children to enjoy Halloween.  The free community event included a bounce house, face painting, carnival games, a cake walk, a build-a-bird-house station and a bicycle safety course.  Attendees were treated to hot dogs and popcorn, as well as candy prizes.  Sierra Nevada Job Corps students staffed the booths and helped make the food.  A record number of students attended the event to help, with 68 students volunteering for the carnival.  The event was great fun and was attended by approximately 300 parents and children from the community.
