Sierra Nevada Job Corps Culinary students recently helped the Northern Nevada Diabetes Association at the organization’s 4th Annual Driving Fore Diabetes Golf Tournament. The tournament was started as a fundraiser to help children with diabetes and create awareness and support around the disease. This was the second year SNJCC prepared all the food for the event. The students cooked a delicious barbecue luncheon for 160 tournament players guests. The menu was entirely prepared by SNJCC’s team and included pulled pork sliders, marinated tri-tip sandwiches, pasta and potato salads, coleslaw and fruit trays.
The tournament attendees and Diabetes Association staff were highly impressed with the students culinary and customer service skills. The center looks forward to helping with the tournament again in 2013!
