Transportation Communication Union graduate hits the opportunity of a lifetime smoothly after a long history of waiting for it………
Beatrice Jones left Shriver in September of 2021 and headed straight to Bath, ME for a position working at Bath Iron Works where she is working on ships for the Navy. In her own words, “it’s been a wonderful experience!” She absolutely loves it! Finding housing in Maine was a challenge for Beatrice but after keeping in touch with friends from Loring Job Corps where she completed her first trade in Cement, she landed the chance of becoming a roommate with them in a good size house.
She has received two pay raises inside of 4 months and the opportunity to grow more in the future is amazing. She is taking advantage that the company offers continued education and is taking courses now in College Business Management at Central Maine Community College. Beatrice has always been a “go getter” but the reality of getting through is just as difficult as anyone. While at Shriver she participated often. She was the Vice President of the Student Government Assn., was a floor leader in dorms, and took up any job opportunity that came by on center. Good for you Beatrice!! Congratulations!
