Samuel Shemwell  an  ACSA  graduate  is now  the  IT POC  of  Shriver  Job  Corps.   Originally  from Illinois, Sam transferred  from  Paul Simon Chicago Job Corps after  completing  his  first  trade  of  Computer  Tech.    At the start of the  pandemic,  Sam  was  working  a  Work-Based Learning position at Quiet Logistics in Devens and  decided to stay local unlike most of  the  students  in  March  of  2020.   He continued to work and completed ACSA  virtually  in the summer of 2021.   This plan eventually landed him a  full  time  permanent  placement  at QL.  This past summer he learned of the opening at  Shriver of which he was qualified for and decided it may be a  better   position for him.    He applied and, in no time achieved the position!  So  far  he  has enjoyed the work and especially  being so  familiar  with most of the staff, it made the transition a bit  easier.   Having been a student here at Shriver before, Sam  relates  to  the  students  with  ease  as students from Computer  Tech  and  ACSA  work  closely  with  Sam at times when on Help Desk for Work-Based Learning.
