On Oct.25, 2012 – LA State Senator Karen Carter Peterson, who represents New Orleans and parts of Jefferson Parish in the La. State Senate; visited the Shreveport Job Corps Center on her College Tour to speak with the students on the importance of exercising their legal rights to vote.  The students received the information presented well and asked questions during the questions and answer period.  Senator Peterson took several group pictures with the students.
