Students from the landscaping department at Schenck Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center showed their Christmas spirit by helping out the Children’s Center of Transylvania County.  The two organizations worked together in preparing for the Festival of Trees at the Silvermont mansion in Brevard.  The Festival of Trees is an annual event that benefits the Children’s Center.  The landscaping students performed a number of tasks for the Children’s Center, such as moving furniture, trimming fir trees, and carrying the trees inside the Silvermont mansion to be decorated. 

The Children’s Center was extremely grateful for the students’ assistance.  Barbara Prugh, the Program Coordinator of the Children’s Center, expressed sincere thanks to the Schenck students: “We couldn’t have done this without Job Corps students. Because most of our volunteers are older, these students are a huge help.”
