San Jose Job Corps Center celebrates National Groundhog Job Shadow Day……throughout the month of February. Students had an opportunity to visit worksites with major employers in high demand industries such as manufacturing, construction, energy, financial services, health care, hospitality, information technology, retail and transportation.
Here is what the students have to say……….
“I had the chance to Job Shadow at the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) and it was a great experience for me. I learned so much on the different types of work and jobs available at VTA. I seriously thought that VTA was just buses and light rail and had no idea VTA is also involved in roadway projects and is highly involved with bringing BART to San Jose.
I want to thank VTA and all the construction and office staff for giving me the opportunity to see their facilities and learn what is involved in planning huge projects and genuinely caring about our career success.” Alexander Cuevas
“The things I saw during Job Shadow Day amazed me and now have me thinking of pursuing a career with VTA.” Guillermo Medina
“It was so cool to go to an actual worksite and see how the work is being done. It was a great day!” Mary Cordova
“It was a great experience to attend the meetings and tour the construction sites.” Andrew LeCount
