San Jose Job Corps Career Technical Skills Training- Church Community Service Bench Project

In February a Career Technical Skills Training (CTST) Community Service Project was created for the San Jose Job Corps students. Saint John’s Episcopal Church located in Lodi California was the beneficiaries of this CTST/Community Service. The Facilities Maintenance Trade at the San Jose Job Corps Center, along with the Center Director agreed to building/creating three to four benches that would be gifted to Saint John’s Episcopal Church. The Job Corps students went to Saint John’s on Sunday April 29th 2012 to install & dedicate their project. Other students were also invited to support their peers and also to learn from the experience themselves. A total of 20 students were present for this service. The Church Bench community service Project taught the Job Corps students the true and important meaning of giving and doing for others. The students and staff that were involved came back to San Jose speaking very highly of their positive experience at the church in the spirit of serving others!!
