Super Bowl 50 was one of the biggest sporting events of this year.
And while many watched from the couch, more than thirty-five (35) San Jose Job Corps students were at the game.
In collaboration with Levis Stadium, and S.A.F.E. Management, San Jose Job Corps students got to experience the thrill of Super Bowl 50 as paid workers of the Security and Guest Services team.
Prior to Super Bowl Sunday, Security and Protective Services students worked swing shifts schedules helping to secure Levis Stadium during preparations week. Both Security and Customer Service students gained valuable work experience at the “NFL Experience” in San Francisco’s Moscone Center where the students interacted with fans from around the world.
Sunday was game day and San Jose Job Corps’ Security students checked bags, conducted pat-downs, and “wanded” over 78,000 ticket holders. Customer Service students provided top-of-the line guest service in the premium suites and private clubs within Levis Stadium. Some Security students were lucky enough to be assigned posts located on the football field. With shifts as long as 10-12hrs., overall students agreed that the Super Bowl 50 work experience was a fantastic and memorable opportunity for San Jose Job Corps, and many are looking forward to reapplying for next football season.
